In today's Nets news update, the Brooklyn Nets seem content to let free-agent big man Andray Blatche test the waters of free agency - perhaps seeing him off to Toronto with the team's current inaction.
According to ESPN's Chris Broussard, "the Toronto Raptors will meet with free-agent forward Andray Blatche on Wednesday in Las Vegas, according to league sources."
When reached for comment last week about whether or not the Brooklyn Nets have been in contact with Blatche, Billy King provided a very succinct and telling answer: "Uh...no," King said, via Rod Boone of Newsday.
Blatche decline his $1.43 million player option for 2014-15, hoping to ride his 11.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game to a substantial pay raise in free agency - with a young Toronto Raptors squad perhaps providing the perfect spot for him.
As the Nets are currently up against a wall with their salary cap situation, Blatche might have priced himself out of the Barclays Center with last year's production - leaving the Nets in the market for a cost-effective replacement.
