CLEVELAND — Sixth-seeded Bowling Green will meet third-seeded Akron in the final of four games to open the Mid-American Conference women’s basketball tournament at Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on Wednesday.
Akron swept the season’s series, but it took a last-second, put-back bucket from Jordyn Dawson for the Zips to eclipse the Falcons 72-70 in the teams’ most-recent meeting Feb. 23, two weeks from the date on which they will meet again on the shores of Lake Erie.
Akron defeated BGSU 79-69 at Akron on Jan. 8.
