Boston Celtics guard Marcus Thornton has seen severan of the team's veterans shipped off as part of a massive rebuilding project for the C's, and he knows he very well could be next.
“All you can do is take it day by day, some things you can’t control,” he said, via the Boston Globe. “You just try to do the best you can every day.”
Thornton has been through similar situations to what the Celtics are going through throughout his career, but it doesn't make it less frustrating for the 27-year-old.

“When you’re rebuilding it [stinks] sometimes because you, as a competitor, you want to win,” he said. “You want to win every game. You want to win at the largest level. I’ve been through this, you can call it a semi-rebuilding stage, a couple of times and it’s frustrating. But at the same time there’s nothing you can do about it.”
Regardless, Thornton is trying to keep perspective on everything.
“While you’re here, you’ve just got to enjoy the moment,” he said. “Enjoy playing the game because you could be doing other things besides being in the NBA. You have to think about stuff like that — why you are here? And continue to work.”
