Boston Celtics forward Jared Sullinger is out for the season with a broken left foot, the latest in a line of injuries for the second-year player. Sullinger said that if he's going to be healthy and have the career he wants, he's going to have to get in better shape.
“Change the physique,” he said. “Change the way I look, that’s the biggest thing. We’re gonna find ways to get me in the best shape as possible. I got in better shape (last summer). There’s another level. There’s always another level to everything. I just have to take it to another level. This year I came back in a little bit better shape. Obviously it wasn’t good enough. Now I got to get back to the grit and grind, kind of break my body down just to build it back up. I was playing a lot of minutes. I was doing a lot of things. My body couldn’t handle all that. Now I just have to change some of the things I do, go about things.”
Sullinger averaged 14.4 points and 8.1 rebounds in 28.7 minutes per game his season.
