The Big Ten announced its offensive award winners for the 2015 football season Monday. The Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan State Spartans dominated the first team list, which isn't a surprise given their strong offense play. Coach of The Year was also announced, and the winner shouldn't come as a surprise. The defensive and special teams first team members were announced yesterday. One quick note; a player was named to both the media and coaches lists for offense unless otherwise noted. With that in mind, here are the Big Ten Offensive Award Winners and First, Second and Third Team members.
Offensive Player Of The Year:
Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott
Elliott carried the Buckeyes' offense all season. He was a unanimous selection to the First Team offense and for good reason. Elliott racked up 1,672 yards and 19 touchdowns on 262 carries this season. He was a classic workhorse back and it's no coincidence that the Buckeyes lost in the only game Elliott didn't have a big game.
Coach Of The Year:
Iowa's Kirk Ferentz
This should come as no surprise, as Ferentz won both the media and coaches' versions of the award. Not much was expected of Iowa this season and there were rumblings Ferentz's time could be running out. Instead, Iowa went undefeated and is one game away from playing the College Football Playoff. Ferentz might just end up winning National Coach of the Year as well.
