There is as much intrigue surrounding the Big Ten as there has been in a decade, and that should make for an extremely exciting football season. Here are the six best games you need to watch this season:
6) No. 5 Michigan State Spartans at Michigan Wolverines (October 17)
East Lansing and Ann Arbor are only an hour apart from each other, and neither school likes the other very much. Michigan State has won six of the last seven meetings, and that doesn't sit well with Michigan fans. Think Jim Harbaugh and Mark Dantonio won't make this one exciting?
5) No. 20 Wisconsin Badgers at Minnesota Golden Gophers (November 28)
Minnesota is gradually climbing up the Big Ten West standings, and nearly won the division last year. Wisconsin ended up playing the conference title game after beating the Gophers - in fact, they've beaten Minnesota by double-digits in each of their last five meetings - and Minnesota desperately wants to prove they belong at the top of the Big Ten. Winning Paul Bunyan's Axe can do that for them.
4) Penn State Nittany Lions at No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes (October 17)
Penn State may very well enter this game undefeated thanks to a favorable schedule, creating what should be a thrilling matchup between two of the Big Ten's most storied programs.
3) No. 20 Wisconsin Badgers at Nebraska Cornhuskers (October 10)
Wisconsin and Nebraska finished as the top two teams in the West division a year ago, and they're expected to finish there again in 2015. The winner of this game will have the inside track on making the Big Ten Championship Game.
2) No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes at Michigan Wolverines (November 28)
"The Game" is always one of the biggest on the Big Ten schedule, and there are plenty of storylines to be had. Ohio State has won the last three and 10 of the past 11 contests between the two sides - Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines are counting on ending that streak this year.
1) No. 5 Michigan State Spartans at No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes (November 21)
While this isn't a traditional rivalry, a top-five matchup with College Football Playoff implications certainly tops the list. Ohio State stunned the Spartans in East Lansing last year, paving the way for their national championship run, and Michigan State would love to return the favor this year.
