In today's Hawks news update, the Atlanta Hawks could be pacing the field when it comes to pursuing suddenly-coveted reserve guard Kent Bazemore, as the team is expected to meet with the 25-year-old once again this coming week.
Per According to Jeff Caplan of NBA.com, while the Atlanta Hawks might have the edge when it comes to gain the services of Bazemore, there are still other contenders lurking out there:
Kent Bazemore could have quality options. Will indeed meet w ATL Mon, 3rd face-to-face meeting (SA & BOS) though told he's still wide open.

After the Lakers declined to make a qualifying offer to Bazemore in a cost-cutting move earlier this offseason, Bazemore has found himself as a wanted man for teams looking for cost-effective depth at guard - something which the Hawks have identified as a need during the 2014 NBA free agency period.
With shooting guard Lou Williams having been shipped to Toronto in the John Salmons trade, the Atlanta Hawks are looking for a young, energetic shooting guard to replenish their rotation in the backcourt - something that Bazemore could provide on the cheap.
