The Atlanta Falcons have identified cornerback as a position of need heading into free agency on March 10th, and new head coach Dan Quinn could look to one of his former charges with the Seattle Seahawks to fill that need.
FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo reported recently that there's talk the Falcons will be "strong players" for Seahawks CB Byron Maxwell in free agency, citing Maxwell's relationship to his former defensive coordinator, Dan Quinn.
Seahawks GM John Schneider has acknowledged that the team wants to keep Maxwell, but his development's in Seattle's vaunted defense may have lifted him out of the Seahawks' price range. There will be a very active market for Maxwell in free agency, with several sites projecting him to be the #1 corner available on the market.
It's unclear whether the Falcons will be willing to pay the premium necessary to land Maxwell, but the speculation seems to have legs with free agency just over a week away.
