The Arkansas Razorbacks were supposed to play a home-and-home series against the Michigan Wolverines in 2018 and 2019. But with the Michigan Wolverines scheduling a series against Notre Dame, those non-conference games have been canceled. That's upset the leaders at Arkansas.
AD Jeff Long, who has worked in the Michigan athletic department and was a candidate for the job that eventually went to Warde Manuel, is not happy about needing to find replacement games.
"Primarily, we are disappointed in Michigan's timing in pulling out of a non-conference football series between the SEC and the Big Ten that has been set for years," Long said. "While there are many other quality opponents that would help us strengthen our non-conference schedule, the late notice of Michigan's cancellation makes securing those games substantially more difficult. Our focus will be to find a program that welcomes the opportunity to compete against a nationally respected program in the most competitive conference in college football."

Head coach Bret Bielema wasn't too pleased either. He wanted a chance to play and beat Michigan.
"I’m definitely disappointed," Bielema told the Chicago Tribune. "It was going to be an opportunity to play one of my favorite teams from the Big Ten."
The Wolverines are paying $2 million in a buyout to get out of the games. Bielema joked that the Razorbacks would use some of that money to host a satellite camp in Cabo.
