The Arizona Diamondbacks are dangling pitchers Jeremy Hellickson and Addison Reed out there before the July 31st MLB trade deadline and the streaking Pittsburgh Pirates may very well bite.
According to Rob Biertempfel of TribLive Sports, "the Pirates have checked out the Arizona Diamondbacks, who have put reliever Addison Reed and right-hander Jeremy Hellickson on the market."
Reed's ground ball rate of 43.2 percent is the best of his career, and the Pirates would hope that carries over and begins to drop his troublesome .363 average against on balls put in play.
Hellickson has had his own set of struggles this year, pitching to a 5.04 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 17 starts.
