The uncertainty of last season created a massive problem for a lot of prospects. Many, especially the North American skaters, saw few chances to get ice time and had to take their development into their own hands.
But overseas players, including the Yaroslavl, Russia-born Alexander Daryin, had more opportunities. It remains to be seen how big of an impact that will have and if players like Daryin are a step ahead of their North American counterparts.
