It was a highly competitive game before Kirby Smart took the head coaching position at Georgia in 2016, but his decision made the last two contests between Alabama and the Bulldogs very exciting. Since becoming the Crimson Tide’s head football coach in 2007, Nick Saban is 5-1 all-time against Georgia. His lone blemish came in his first year, as the Bulldogs pulled out a 26-23 win.
Ironically, the Tide won the College Football Playoff National Championship Game against Georgia for the 2017 season by the very same score.
