Alabama football could get edge rusher Christopher Allen back for CFP

Alabama’s defense might be getting a huge boost for the College Football Playoff.

Christopher Allen, a fifth-year senior, has missed 12 games since the season opener. The 6-foot-4, 242-pounder recorded three tackles, one sack, and one fumble recovery versus Miami. He sustained a foot injury in the matchup, and has missed time since.

Allen had a dynamic season in 2020 with 41 tackles, 13 tackles for loss (team-high), six sacks, five quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. He earned second-team All-SEC honors from the league’s coaches. Allen helped the Crimson Tide secure an undefeated national championship season.
