The Alabama Crimson Tide offered a scholarship to four-star offensive tackle Elliot Baker (San Francisco, CA) last month, and the Tide have since surged to the forefront for the top rated JUCO prospect in the country.
“I originally had a top five, but that was pretty early on,” Baker told 247sports. “It might be changing a little bit. Alabama, right now, is my leader. Georgia is like right up there neck and neck with them. Those two schools I’m looking at the most. I’m taking a visit to Oregon, they’re in my top five, then ASU and Mississippi State.”
Baker's interest in Alabama centers around their ability to "send guys to the NFL." He will visit Tuscaloosa next weekend.
“On the visit I’m looking forward to meeting the staff and building a better relationship with Coach Key,” he said. “Then talking with the players, seeing how they interact with each other. Just seeing the overall atmosphere at Alabama and what it’s all about.”
Baker plans to graduate in December and enroll early at whichever school he commits to, but he has yet to set a decision date.
