Four-star wide receiver Ahmmon Richards (West Palm Beach, FL), a Miami commit, took an unofficial visit to the Alabama Crimson Tide last weekend, and Richards left impressed.
“Overall it was a really good trip,” Richards said, via 247sports. “I got to talk with all the coaches. Really I toured everywhere. The stadium, the facilities, the academic center, overall I had a really good time there. I talked with Coach Saban. Basically it’s kind of like you’re in or you're out. They don’t try to sweet talk you or tell you what you want to hear. They tell you how it is, which I like.
“It was really nice. You’re talking with Coach Saban. It was a lot. We talked for like an hour. It was a really good conversation. I got to know him more, and he got to know me. Just building that relationship. Basically he just said if you come here there’s an opportunity to play early.
“It’s like a serious kind of place. I like that. I like the town; it’s a really friendly place. People I’ve never even known offered to take pictures for my family and then they carried on a nice conversation. I really like it down there.”
Yet does Alabama have the potential to flip his commitment to Miami?
“Yeah I would say so,” Richards said. "I’m still pretty solid to Miami, but Alabama is making a push, a hard push.”
The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder is rated the No. 50 wide receiver and the No. 286 overall player in the country. Tennessee, Auburn, and Louisville are also making a hard push to flip Richards.
