Former ECU quarterback Gardner Minshew has committed to Alabama as a graduate transfer, according to Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports.
ECU grad transfer QB Gardner Minshew tells me he has committed to #Alabama. He will arrive there at the end of May to join the Tide. He had a 16-7 TD-INT ratio last year. Here is our story on him from the other day: https://t.co/6mzVyQJKh6

Minshew isn't expected to compete for the starting job - that belongs to Tua Tagovailoa - but will give Alabama depth and experience at the position for the 2018 season.
He is also planning to pursue a coaching career once his playing days are over, which is something that the Tide actually pitched him on and is what convinced him to pick Alabama.

"I want to get into coaching after my playing career is done," Minshew said. "Being around that atmosphere and to be around Coach Saban would be such an invaluable experience.”
Minshew played in 10 games for ECU last season, passing for 2,140 yards with 16 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.
