Believe it or not, Alabama once won three consecutive SEC Tournaments. Granted, it was over 20 years ago, but still, they got their 3-peat on.
It's time they do it again. Here's the how and why it will happen.
1. It's in New Orleans -- 'Bama's football team just slapped LSU around the Super Dome for its 14th national title. In Tuscaloosa, football actually factors in how well the basketball team performs year-in and year-out. Or at least I hope it does.

2. Vandy beats Tennessee Saturday and 'Bama gets 4-seed -- A 4-seed will guarantee a first-round bye. On the off day, the 'Tide basketball team will watch highlights of Alabama's 21-0 victory over LSU from January 9th. I imagine all of the players holding shakers and waiting for each play with baited breath anticipating each play as if they didn't know what was coming next. There will be popcorn and cookies and a bunch of other stuff like nachos.
The following day, Alabama will get the winner of the Tennessee-South Carolina game. 'Bama is better than both of these teams and will win by eight or more points. Anthony Grant's team is hot and they are headed for some semi-final basketball.

3. JaMychal Green and the 'Tide want to prove the suspensions and distractions are behind them and that they are NCAA Tournament worthy -- At least they better. Saturday's semi-final battle will be against the No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats and their 45,000 Blue Mist fans.
But wait.
What happened when Alabama football played No. 1 LSU in front of what appeared to be a pro-LSU crowd? YEEEEAAAAAAH!!!! 'Bama shut 'em out, 21-0. 'Bama wins this game by ten.
Oh, Johnny Calipari. Do you even know what you're getting yourself into? What did you say, John Calipari? Yes, John. I'm well aware that any banners you hang at Kentucky are hung much lower than the rest so it doesn't take as long for them to come down in 2017.

4. Mississippi State beats Vandy to get to the finals because the Bulldogs always morph into a combination of Duke and North Carolina the SEC Tournament rolls around -- The Bulldogs are so beatable. Alabama already beat them at Coleman Coliseum and now that the 'Tide are the hottest conference team south of Lexington, it's easy to see that Alabama crushes MSU to finally get that SEC Tournament trophy back in Tuscaloosa.

How fun is it going to be to see Nick Saban holding that SEC Tournament Crystal Ball with his basketball team? Man, it's going to be great.
This tournament championship will do so much for Nick Saban and the 'Bama hoops program, finally allowing them to separate themselves from the 2011 National Championship football team and build a championship tradition of their own.
