The Alabama Crimson Tide received a commitment from three-star tight end Brendan Scales (Ballwin, MO) on Friday.
"I'm very pleased," Scales' father Von Scales said via 247sports. "My number one objective was that he was happy and comfortable with his decision, and if he is, I am. I just want the best for him, he's the one that's got to go through that meat grinder for four years, and if Alabama is where he wants to do it, I'm all for it.
"Alabama loyalist or not, you grow up knowing so much about it. We've heard nothing but great things about the program from people we've known that have had kids there, so I'm very comfortable with it."
Scales received the offer on Wednesday and was already in Tuscaloosa for A-Day when he made his decision.
The 6'4", 230-pounder is rated the No. 28 tight end in the country and chose Alabama over Arizona State, Arkansas, and Iowa.
