2018 Fort Lauderdale (Fl.) St. Thomas Aquinas cornerback Benjamin Sapp, son of NFL free agent cornerback Benny Sapp, picked up an offer from the Alabama Crimson Tide on Friday and couldn't be happier about it.
“I went into my coach’s office, and he told me (about the offer),” Sapp said to 247Sports. “It was just very exciting. I’m extremely blessed to be offered by them.”
Benjamin's parents are doing their best to keep him focused on the task at hand, rather than getting a big ahead about his early success on the football field.
“(My parents) were very happy for me,” Sapp said. “They told me just to stay humble, and just keep working.”
Regardless, Sapp is confident in his evolving abilities as a defensive back.
“I bring the best out of my teammates,” Sapp said. “One of my receivers, Michael Harley, he got me way better than I was last year. He got me faster, my feet quicker, and I just want to give him a shout out because he helped me out a lot.”
