ACC football has a handful of coaches entrenched in their roles (Jimbo Fisher, Dabo Swinney, etc.), but there's also a group of guys hanging around in danger of being handed the dreaded pink slip. Here's 3 ACC Football Coaches On The Hot Seat In 2015.
3) Larry Fedora -- North Carolina Tar Heels
We're not buying into those who believe Fedora's job is already 95% gone, but he is 18-18 after three years and one game and has been trending downward ever since he took over. UNC took South Carolina to the limit in Week 1, but moral victories won't be enough if UNC spirals down the tubes this year. Embarassments at the hands of NC State and Rutgers to close out last year linger. If Fedora's boys can't answer the call in ACC play, Fedora's seat will go from relatively warm to downright molten.
2) Mike London -- Virginia Cavaliers
What's the one thing saving London's job right now? He's a fantastic recruiter, poaching top-tier talents from other program's hot spots. However, that hasn't exactly translated to wins in his five FBS seasons (17-38). UVA made solid progress with a 5-7 record last year, but it was an uninspiring campaign that didn't exactly portend an ACC come-up this year. If London doesn't make the next step by leading the Cavaliers to a bowl this year, he's in trouble.
1) Al Golden -- Miami Hurricanes
Golden would have been on the hot seat after the 2014 season if not for the massive buyout in his contract...but that buyout number gets smaller every year, and patience in Miami is wearing thin.
The Hurricanes regressed in 2014, and even a bowl victory will leave them with two fewer wins than they had in 2013. Golden needs to start delivering the kind of results Miami fans are used to - conference titles, rivalry wins and top-tier bowl appearances - or he'll be gone.
