WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — An even-par 72 has University of Toledo senior Barend Botha in a tie for 17th place through one round of the NCAA men’s golf regional at Purdue’s Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex Kampen Course.
Botha, competing for UT as an individual entrant at the regional, had two birdies and two bogies during his round. He birdied the par-5 seventh, bogeyed the par-4 eighth, birdied the par-4 12th, and bogeyed the par-5 16th.
"Barend played some pretty good golf today and made some quality shots," Toledo coach Jeff Roope said. "He had a few misses, but he ended up scrambling for pars when he did.
