Relief pitcher Carson Coleman, who was selected by the Texas Rangers in the Rule 5 Draft this past offseason, will not pitch in 2024, per the beats. Coleman, who underwent Tommy John surgery last year and was originally expected to be back in action in the second half of the 2024 season, reportedly had a setback in his recovery.

Coleman, a 26 year old righthander, put up a 2.13 ERA in 62 innings between high-A and AA in 2022 while pitching in the Yankees organization before missing all of 2023 due to TJS. He is currently on the 60 day injured list, and thus does not count against the Rangers’ 40 man roster limit.
