As Barcelona prepare for what could be a transformative summer transfer window that might deeply change the current squad ahead of next season, there is one name who is increasingly linked with a move away from Camp Nou: Ronald Araujo.
The center-back is currently in talks with the club surrounding a new contract, but very little progress has been made in recent weeks and the strong interest shown by the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester United have made it at least a possibility that the Uruguayan could be sold for a big fee this summer.
His recent controversy with Ilkay Gündogan after his mistake in the Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain combined with a few poor performances in recent big games have certainly changed the perception of at least a portion of a fanbase that used to adore the Uruguayan’s powerful style and fighting spirit, and now it doesn’t seem as certain that Araujo will be a big part of Barça’s future.
