Penn State men’s lacrosse slated to face No. 8-seeded Georgetown in 1st round of NCAA Tournament

Penn State is going dancing for the second year in a row.

The Nittany Lions hoped to obtain the automatic bid that comes with claiming the conference title, but their loss to Michigan in the Big Ten Championship meant the fate of their season was to be determined by Sunday’s NCAA Tournament Selection Show.

The blue and white’s dominant regular season was enough to claim its spot in the national tournament, as it is slated to face No. 8-seeded Georgetown at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Hoyas’ Cooper Field in Washington, D.C.

“We certainly just didn’t want to see our season end like that the way it did in Columbus and certainly not that night,” coach Jeff Tambroni said.
