Brewers can’t build on fast start, lose finale to Cardinals

Sunday started out looking like it would turn into a blowout. The Brewers put together a three-run first inning and made Cardinals starter Miles Mikolas throw 41 pitches. Both the Cardinals manager and bench coach were ejected in the third inning. Unfortunately, the Brewers couldn’t capitalize on all of it. The Cardinals chipped away at the lead and eventually took it, and the Brewers lost the series finale 4-3.

After Bryse Wilson worked through a rough first inning, the Brewers made Mikolas work through the second. William Contreras started it with a one-out single, then Christian Yelich drew a walk.
